Who is it recommended for 

This treatment is recommended for teens who are experiencing unwanted skin conditions due to the common hormonal changes that take place during puberty. It is ideally a facial that can help to improve asphyxiated skin that often develops as a result of an increase in sebum production. Extractions and skin exfoliation is also offered to remove unwanted dirt from clogged pores.

An emphasis is placed on educating the teen client about the importance of small habits, this is done in a non-judgmental manner, however the tips and tools that are learned in these years set a foundation for great skin care habits that will last a lifetime. 

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

In general, a teen treatment at SK Esthetics is suitable for any teen. However, treatments are adjusted depending on what the specific teen client needs, as well as their skin type. The exact suitability for any treatment can only be fully determined in person.

About the Treatment

Because the teen facial option can be adjusted it is not limited to just one facial. Most facial requests for teens are deep cleanings via extractions which are done manually and / or with the aid of a spatula machine. Treatments for teens do not only emphasize achieving a skin care goal, but the comfort level is also factored in so that the teen client will feel confident about returning.  The number of extractions generally increases over time; allowing the teen client will build up a strong tolerance.

Who is it recommended for ?

A deep pore cleansing facial is recommended for someone whose pores are clogged with a dull skin appearance.  It combines extractions and exfoliation of the skin. It is *not* only limited to clients with oily skin but is also a great facial option for maintaining healthy clean skin. Future break outs can be prevented or may not escalate into higher acne grades as a result of deep cleaning facials.

Over time our pores can build up with dead skin, dirt, oil, bacteria, environmental pollutants and even ingrown hairs.  A professional Deep Pore cleansing facial will help to flush out this build up. The accumulation of dead skin often keeps these impurities trapped in the pores.  These impurities frequently present as white or black heads, papules and pustules. 

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

This treatment may not be suitable for clients with extremely sensitive skin and  / or those with couperose skin, rosacea, eczema and possibly other skin conditions. This treatment is *not* recommended for those who have  Nodular or Cystic Acne. Please look at our Acne series if you are experiencing this type of acne.

About the Treatment

A Deep Cleaning Facial at SK Esthetics consists of removing impurities from the pores. This is done topically and mechanically.  Dead skin is removed using a modality that your esthetician will discern at the time of your treatment. It is largely based on how the clients skin responds and what it is able to  tolerate  during treatment.  You can expect your pores to look clear and clean with a non invasive yet  powerful flushing out of  dirt. Additional oil balancing and  bacteria inhibiting treatments will be administered during your facial and can vary depending on what your skin needs.

A finishing touch antibacterial serum and sunscreen is applied to protect the skin from environmental damage. Continued purging after a deep cleansing facial treatment is very common too. Sometimes the skin will break out even more for a week or so until it begins to subdue and correct. This will heal and is why appropriate post treatment care is always required and why it is recommended to do a series of treatments for optimum skin health and stability.

Who is it recommended for ? 

Our Acne Series is recommended for clients who have  Cystic and / or Nodular Acne. Cystic acne is often painful to touch and lays  beneath the surface of the skin it is  generally going to be more painful than your typical pimple.  Although not always necessary, it is common that most clients with cystic acne combine professional cystic acne facial treatments with prescribed topical or oral medications. 

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

This treatment is recommended for anyone who has cystic acne, however certain skin conditions and infections may make a client unsuitable. It may also be  necessary to have a doctor's recommendation if a client is taking prescribed medications and will often depend on the grade of cystic acne.

About the Treatment

 Our Cystic Acne Facials start with an anti bacterial oily skin cleansing. Extractions may be  performed on appropriate areas of the face.  This  is very much depended on the type of cyst, sensitivity and pain level that the client is experiencing. Generally if the bacteria is at a very deep depth  skin peels or alterative anti-inflammatory solutions may be applied.  This will often repair and change the skin from within so it can transform on the out.

Additional bacteria inhibiting treatments will be administered during your Cystic Acne Facial and can vary depending on what your skin needs. 

Bacteria inhibiting serums are applied along with a  sunscreen to protect the skin from environmental damage. Unfortunately acne facials do not tend to offer the same type of immediate clean looking results as most of our treatments. In fact depending on what's required the skin may look more inflamed after a facial. Purging is also very common , therefore sometimes the skin will break out even more until it begins to subdue and correct. This will heal in time and is why appropriate post treatment care is always required.

Peels

Who is it recommended for ?

Professional skin peels are suitable for all skin types regardless of if your skin is dry, oily, combination, or sensitive. 

They are a safe and effective way of improving your skin health. Peels can also prevent *most* skin conditions such as,  acne, discoloration, sensitive skin, rosacea and offers grace in the aging process ! Skin Peel treatments at SK Esthetics are entirely customizable and uniquely administered to suit your skin and lifestyle inside and outside of the treatment room.

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

Skin peels are  not recommended for clients who have not had a skin preparation facial  for a peel at SK Esthetics at least 10 to  14 days prior to the treatment. It is not suitable for those who are  lactating, pregnant or may become pregnant.  Have used   tretinoin, Retin-A, Renova, Differin, Tazorac, Avage, Spiduo, Ziana or high percentage AHAs and BHAs within the last 5 days.

Have recently had certain cosmetic procedures. Any open wounds or lesions on the skin,  active skin infections such as but not limited to  cold sores, herpes or impetigo, sunburn or irritated skin. Recent cosmetic procedures such as but not limited to laser treatment or facial fillers.Clients should consult their physician in regards to discontinuing prescribed medication or receiving peels after facial medical procedures. Other factors pre and post treatment will be discussed by your Esthetician to ensure that you have the optimum healing during your skin peel.

About the Treatment

Skin peels are provided in series with a  minimum of 3 treatments per series.  Treatments consist of cleansing and cocktailing customized products that address and help to target the clients individual concerns.

The actual skin peel strength increases  progressively,  this allows the skin to build up in health and strength so it is able to respond positively to the  incremental  increasing of   peel layering. This minimizes the risk of the skin rebounding, which is common when peels are too aggressive too quick and too soon.   Additional products and steps are customized over the  duration of your Peel Series visits at SK Esthetics. Ingredients in the peel solution work to create new cells that function properly, not only visibly improving the outside appearance of the skin, but correcting it from the structure within.

 Sunscreen is always applied to protect the skin from UV rays and environmental damage.

Your initial Peel Series at SK Esthetics will  usually be recommended every 3-4 weeks, paralleling the skin’s natural 28-day cell turnover process. However after your first series  depending on your skin concern, this could be recommended more or less frequently.

Essential Post Treatment Aftercare

Depending on the type of peel you receive you can expect to have a bit of down time and will need to comply with post treatment aftercare protocol after.  This ensures optimum healing and will be thoroughly explained to you by your Esthetician  prior to receiving a peel.

This treatment for anyone whose skin  looks dry, dull and lifeless and is in need of  hydration.  A 02-Hydra-Facial is also highly recommended for clients who want to get more of a bang for their buck in regards to the products they use at home. Products used in at home care often do not work as well because dormant skin cells have not shed and clogged pores . A 02-Hydrafacial  will help to clean and clear  clogged pores , therefore its recommended to anyone who would like to work on smoothing out fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and acne.

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

This treatment is not suitable for those with rashes ,  eczema, rosacea, psoriasis , severe broken capillaries, open wounds or lesions on the skin. Active skin infections such as but not limited to  cold sores, herpes or impetigo. Sunburned or irritated skin, recent cosmetic procedures such as but not limited to chemical peel or laser treatment. 

About the Treatment

Our 02 Hydra-Facial is inspired by a South Korean 10-step method and boasts itself in providing the client with noticeably more bouncy, supple and revitalized skin by the end of the treatment.   Clients can expect their treatment to initially start with a multifaceted  Oxygen bubble foam that cleanses and decongests at the same time waking up dead skin. The clients skin is exfoliated  with the  appropriate accompanied  solutions, this can help to further remove additional dead skin cells, revealing a smoother, brighter complexion.

Who is it recommended for ?

A European facial is generally suitable and recommended for all skin types. It’s often categorized for being a gentle and relaxing facial. Tapotement and Swedish Facial  massage movements are delicately maneuvered with intricacy over the face.  It’s great for the improvement of  the overall health and appearance of the skin while also providing a  non-invasive option for subtle exfoliation and a small amount of facial extractions ( if needed ). If you want to bring  life to their skin in a very soothing way this facial is for you.

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

Those with an active skin infection such as herpes or impetigo. Sunburned or irritated  skin, recent cosmetic procedures such as, but not limited to chemical peels or laser treatment.

About the Treatment

A European Facial starts with a gentle creamy cleansing solution followed by  a gentle  scrub and fruit  enzyme peel that will not leave the skin visibly peeling after the facial. It will remove dead skin cells and improve skin texture.  Some extractions may be performed depending on the clients needs, this may also be accompanied with essential oils, steam and warm towels also depending on the clients skin. 

An Oxygenating sweet cherry Swedish face massage is given to increases blood flow in the face which in addition to improving the skin also provides stress relief. A hydrating, calming and nourishing Collagen with Elastin mask is applied to the skin while laying under the 02 Sleeping Beauty Dome. Microdermabrasion is administered on the face, neck and decollete. If you would like to address fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, sun damage acne scars , blemishes, uneven skin tone , texture, age spots or unclog pores then Microdermabrasion is a good facial option for you.

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

Microdermabrasion is  not recommended for individuals with active acne, eczema, psoriasis,  rosacea or for those who have recently had certain cosmetic procedures. About the Treatment

A Microdermabrasion facial treatment at SK Esthetics is a procedure that uses a minimally abrasive professional diamond want to gently exfoliate the outer layer of the skin. It is a non-invasive treatment that can significantly improve the texture and appearance of the skin. Repeating treatments as a continued series will also increase the results.

Our  Microdermabrasion treatment is one of our most popular  signature facials. Clients can expect this treatment to liven up their skin while also intriguing their the smell senses.  The treatment may be modified as needed to fit with the client preferences, however it will generally have the following steps.  A lemon scented Oxygen bubble cleansing foam is applied to clean,  decongest and wakes up the skin. Who is it recommended for ?

A Gua Sha facial w/ cupping is recommended for anyone who is interested in using a natural, traditional Chinese therapy to reduce the appearance of inflammation and puffiness in their face. 

Both treatments will detoxify the skin and improve its tone. Anecdotally, facial gua sha and cupping work well together when done professionally.

Gua Sha is better for contouring and glow, while facial cupping seems to work better for plumping the skin, helping to smooth our superficial fine lines. 

 Gua Sha w/ Cupping increases blood flow and oxygen to the facial skin therefore stimulating collagen production and strengthens the skin. 

Lymphatic drainage takes place as the tools are used strategically in specific parts of the face.

Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese therapy that has been used for thousands of years. Its name "Gua Sha" translates to "scraping sand" in Chinese and refers to the scraping motion used during the facial. Facial cupping comprises of  small cups made of silicone which can be placed in appropriate places on the face, gliding to increase blood circulation, therefore promoting a healthy radiant glow and smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

Those with active acne, inflamed blemishes, conditions such as rosacea, eczema,  psoriasis,  open wounds or lesions on the skin. Active skin infections such as but not limited to cold sores, herpes, impetigo, broken or irritated skin.  If you have any open wounds, cuts, or abrasions on your face or neck, have recently undergone certain cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels, laser treatments, or facial fillers,  such as blood clotting disorders, active cancer, or severe allergies, bleeding disorders or those who are taking blood-thinning medication.  Pregnant women should avoid facial cupping also those with a history of miscarriage, blood clots or those who are at risk for blood clots.

About the Treatment

 Your Gua Sha Facial w/ Cupping will start with a customized cleanser oxygenating cleanser selected for your skin type.   A Cherry Blossom O2 Oil is then applied to your face to help the Gua Sha tool glide smoothly over the face.  The Gua Sha tool used during your facial is smooth and flat, made of jade or rose quartz and shaped to fit the contours of the face. It will be skillfully and knowledgeably maneuvered across the face to increase the blood flow and enhance the oxygen intake to the skin cells.  

Following after this is the customization of another facial oil which is applied before the facial cupping.

A dermaplaning facial is generally recommended for individuals with uneven skin tone, fine lines , wrinkles and mild acne scarring.  It helps to improve the overall  skin texture and remove the superficial layer of dead skin therefore it can be ideal for  dry and oily skin types.

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

Some active acne skin types with  inflamed blemishes, certain skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema, or psoriasis.  If you have certain medical conditions, such as blood clotting disorders,  Sunburned or damaged skin , active infections such as but not limited to herpes, cold sores. Pregnancy,  recently undergone certain cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels, laser treatments, or facial fillers, in these skin scenarios  it is best to wait until the skin has fully healed before receiving a dermaplaning facial.

About the Treatment

A dermaplaning facial at SK Esthetics is  is a type of exfoliating treatment that involves the use of a sterile surgical blade to gently remove dead skin cells and vellus hair (commonly known as "peach fuzz") from the surface of the skin.  Dry to normal, aging, slight acne scars, sun damaged and hyperpigmented skin can enjoy a fresher, newer appearance from this treatment. 

Dermaplaning can be  administered on oily and  blemished skin. The removal of dead skin allows for better product penetration during the clients professional treatment as well as at home. 

During a dermaplaning facial at SK Esthetics the face will be thoroughly cleansed either degreasing or lubricating with the appropriate with a cleanser.

A small, sterile surgical blade will be used to  gently scrape the skin in a professionally trained motion. This is not a painful treatment and typically does not require any downtime.

Serums, oils and peptides are selected based on the clients skin. The administering of a soft oil based  facial massage or a quicker water based tapotement product application will be determined during the facial and will depend on the clients skin type.

Microneedling is generally not recommended for individuals who have  skin, conditions such as rosacea, eczema, or psoriasis active acne,  open wounds, inflamed blemishes. Active skin infections such as but not limited to  cold sores, herpes or impetigo, sunburned or irritated skin.  Recent cosmetic procedures such as but not limited to chemical peel, laser treatments or facial fillers. Pregnant or breastfeeding, those with rosacea, undergoing chemotherapy, have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring, have open wounds or cuts on the skin, blood clotting disorders, autoimmune disorders, Certain medications, medications, with  blood thinners, or those who have recently taken isotretinoin (Accutane). microneedling may increase the risk of complications.

Who is it recommended for ?

Radiofrequency (RF) therapy is a non-invasive  treatment that uses radio waves to heat the skin and stimulate collagen production. It is commonly recommended for individuals who are want to tighten their skin.

RF therapy can also be used to treat acne scars, stretch marks, and uneven skin texture and is suitable for all skin types and tones. 

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

RF therapy is not recommended for individuals who have implanted electronic devices, such as pacemakers or defibrillators, as the electromagnetic energy from the treatment can interfere with these devices. It is not suitable for those with autoimmune disorders, active infections such as but not limited to cold sores, herpes, pregnant or breast feeding.  Sunburned or damaged skin.

About the Treatment

Your  radiofrequency facial will begin with the  Oxygen infusing cleanser for your skin type. The treatment area, and the individual's skin type and concerns. A  radio frequency device that emits radio waves to heat the skin and stimulate collagen production is  moved over the desired treatment areas  in a specific pattern to ensure even coverage.

Clients are likely to  feel a warm or tingling sensation during the treatment, but it is not painful.
